What is Medical Massage?

Medical massage is a therapeutic, goal-oriented form of massage that focuses on relieving pain, improving mobility, and addressing specific muscle and soft tissue concerns. Unlike a spa massage, every session is customized based on your symptoms, goals, and areas of discomfort.

Our licensed massage therapists work with individuals of all activity levels, from those recovering from injury to those managing chronic pain, reducing stress, improving mobility, or supporting their overall health and wellness.

Benefits of Massage Therapy

Massage therapy may help:

  • Reduce muscle tension
  • Relieve acute and chronic pain
  • Improve flexibility and range of motion
  • Increase circulation
  • Support lymphatic drainage
  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Promote relaxation
  • Improve sleep quality
  • Enhance athletic performance and recovery

Whether you’re dealing with everyday aches and pains or looking to complement your wellness routine, massage therapy can be an effective part of your care.

Massage Techniques

Every massage therapist has unique training and experience, allowing each session to be tailored to your needs.

Techniques may include:

  • Relaxation Massage
  • Deep Tissue Massage
  • Sports Massage
  • Trigger Point Therapy
  • Myofascial Release
  • Craniosacral Therapy
  • Reflexology
  • Prenatal Massage
  • Chair Massage

When appropriate, your therapist may also incorporate specialized tools and techniques such as massage cups, soft tissue tools, hot stones, and other therapeutic modalities.

What to Expect

Your appointment begins with a brief intake form and conversation with your massage therapist about your health history, goals, and any areas of concern.

Your therapist will then step out of the room so you can undress to your comfort level and get settled under the sheet on the massage table. Your privacy and comfort are always respected throughout your session.

Communication is encouraged during your massage. Let your therapist know if you’d like more or less pressure, if an area feels especially tender, or if there’s anything we can do to make your experience more comfortable, including adjustments to table heat or positioning.

Every massage is personalized to provide the best possible experience for your individual needs.

Prenatal Massage

Pregnancy places unique demands on the body. Our prenatal massage services are designed to help relieve muscle tension, reduce discomfort, and promote relaxation throughout pregnancy.

For added comfort, we offer a specialized pregnancy pillow that allows many expectant mothers to lie comfortably face down during their massage when appropriate.
